So you have this shiny new drive, but when you put it into your Windows PC and fire it up it seems that Windows doesn't want to work with it; it just displays it as a 'RAW' partition, regardless of what you do to try and correct the problem.  You've checked cables, you've re-seated the card (in the case of NVMe's), and you're about to pull it out to send it back for a replacement (or worse, write it up as a loss). Before that, however, there is one last option... OBLIGATORY DISCLAIMER:  the method I'm about to describe here is as barebones as it gets.  What we're about to use is an old command line program that does absolutely no hand holding or warnings whatsoever.  If you type the final command line wrong the chances of you losing data just jumped to almost 100% (unless it just kicks back an error, in which case consider yourself lucky)!  That being said, figuring out the correct command line isn't difficult, and this works with just about any ...

The Backstory Some time back I decided I wanted to connect a game controller wirelessly to my PC.  Not having a controller yet I went on Amazon like the model prime citizen that I am, and I bought an Xbox One controller with an included wireless adapter for Windows PC's ( this one , more specifically): I've played around with connecting other controllers to bluetooth adapters on various devices and what not using third party tools, but I figured this combination would be a straightforward process:  connect it and be done.  After all, it's a Microsoft product being connected to a Microsoft Operating System, so it's not like compatibility is going to be an issue, right? Here I was, about to add a little guide to my old blog, when I learn that apparently it no longer exists.  It was a free platform I uploaded it to, so I suppose I got what I paid for.  Yeah yeah, I know, this one's free too.  Maybe this time around I should make backups of the posts, eh? Before firing up this blog I had thought of the backup plan of just producing notes under my Facebook profile, but apparently that's not a thing anymore, either.  I really need to post more... 😕 I'm not looking forward to re-making some of those old guides but I will, of course.  I know better:  the one time I don't think I need something I'll find a situation where it would've come in handy.
